A studio of their own
The Nest is the children's studio at The Fox & The Owl: a place built around instruction with imagination at its center. Each 14-week semester — offered in fall and spring — children ages 4–10 choose from two distinct class themes that braid together storytelling, art, movement, and the natural world — the kind of learning that doesn't feel like sitting still.
Each class meets once a week during the day, in step with the rhythm of homeschool families — though every family is welcome, and every child belongs.

Two paths, one nest
Take one, or take both — together, they show how myths explain nature and nature inspires myth.
Weekly · ages 4–10 · daytime
Fables, folktales, and myths from around the world, brought to life through movement, art, and storytelling. One week the class becomes a fox outwitting a crow; the next, they're painting the phoenix they just heard rise.
Global traditions, hands-on projects, and plenty of room for a child's own telling of the tale.
For the child who asks “and then what happened?”

The natural world, met with curiosity and dirt under the fingernails. Plants, animals, and the turning of the seasons explored through art, gardening, and group play — a semester that changes as the year does.
Seed to sprout, acorn to oak, observation to wonder.
For the child whose pockets come home full of rocks.
Classes run in 2-hour sessions, Monday through Friday: 9–11am, 12–2pm, and 4–6pm, with an 11am–12pm supervised lunch class between the morning and afternoon sessions. Friday sessions run through the 12–2pm block only. Each class needs a minimum of 4–5 students enrolled to run.

Mixed ages, by design
Like siblings around a table, children learn as much from each other as from any lesson plan. Our groups are mixed-age on purpose.
Ages 4–6
Wonder-first. Stories, senses, and small hands learning what they can make.
Ages 6–8
Bigger projects, bolder questions, and the first taste of leading a younger friend.
Ages 8–10
Mentors in the making. They guide, demonstrate, and discover that teaching is its own kind of learning.
These are suggested age groups — if you think your child would benefit from a different cohort, just ask. Cohort names may evolve as the first families make them their own.

All rates are introductory pricing for our opening semesters.
Registering
Registration includes a participation agreement — emergency contact name and phone, any medical diagnoses or allergies, and your preferences on photo use in our marketing or parent newsletter, so every family decides how their children appear in our story. Enrollment is a full-semester commitment, paid monthly or in one payment; the lunch class alone can be paused with 14 days' written notice. A parent portal for managing enrollment, payments, newsletters, and class photos is in the works — for now, registration and updates happen by phone, text, or email. Our doors open in late spring 2027 and the first full semester follows that fall — call, text, or email to save a place.
Lunch is provided by each family; please tell us about any allergies when you register — The Nest does not manage food allergies on your behalf.
